Dr. Amber Roegner is dedicated to compassionate and quality veterinary care that takes a holistic approach to the well-being of pets and the people that love them. She has 8 years’ experience working in nonprofit, small animal relief, mobile, laboratory, and fish veterinary medicine. Amber grew up on the east coast and worked in environmental remediation and consulting after college, before venturing out west for veterinary school. She graduated from UC Davis with a DVM and PhD in Pharmacology & Toxicology in 2014, after which she moved to Oregon and fell in love with the state. She seeks to successfully integrate environment, nutritional considerations, and alternative modalities with western medicine and became certified in Veterinary Medical Acupuncture in 2023. Further veterinary medical interests include preventative medicine including attention to dental health, infectious disease, pharmacology, ophthalmology, and end of life care. Bilingual in Spanish, and hopes to expand access to services for more communities in the Eugene-Springfield area. Dr. Amber has experience in global health and water quality research in Kenya and Guatemala, and her current research through University of Oregon focuses on impacts of freshwater harmful algal blooms on rural Oregonian communities and community participatory solutions. Amber’s wide and deep professional interests center around providing community-focused resources that improve health, well-being, and access to services for animals and their human beings. When not working, she enjoys running on all sorts of terrain, swimming, painting, reading, and attempting to learn other languages.
