Dr. Jeremy Kiene grew up in Broomfield, Colorado, and earned a BA in English and history from Regis University in Denver. He completed a PhD in Renaissance literature at the University ofNotre Dame, and taught 16th and 17th century poetry and drama at colleges in Maryland and Southern California before being inspired to pursue a career in veterinary medicine by the amazing veterinarians who treated his own pets for cancer. After finishing his undergraduate science prerequisites and working as a veterinary assistant at clinics in California, he earned his doctorate in veterinary medicine at Colorado State University. There he developed interests in oncology, internal medicine, pain management, palliative care, and geriatric medicine. While at CSU he met his fiancée Ally, who is a veterinary clinical pathology resident at The Ohio State University. When not working, they love spending time outdoors, traveling, reading, watching movies and sports (he is a lifelong Denver Broncos and Colorado Avalanche fan, but the Buckeyes have grown on him since moving to Columbus!), and hanging out with their four dogs and five cats.
